A peaceful demonstration organized by the Union of Oromo Students in Europe, Belgium (UOSEB) branch was successfully made on 30th June 2008 from place jean rey (in front of the European parliament) to berlaimont (in front of the European commission) in Brussels, Belgium.
The main objective of the demonstration was to protest the Ethiopian government backed Gumuz militia attacks on the civilian Oromos in west Oromia, in which some 400 men ,women, children’s and elderly have been murdered in a way too ghastly to explain.
The demonstrators accused the continuous and horrible human rights abuse by the Ethiopian government on the Oromo ,people and other nationalities in Ethiopia and the horn of Africa in general.
The participants came together from all over western Europe including Germany, Netherland, Switzerland, Belgium and more. Participants were briefed by Dr. Mezgebu, the ex-MPE Dr.Getacho Jigi, Oromo elder and woyane prison victim Obbo Tilahun, Adde Makiyya and Ex-president of the Ethiopian university students union Hunde Dhugassa. After the brief the demonstrators committed themselves to work together to topple the dictatorship of Meles government in any possible way they can. After promising to meet regularly until human rights is respected in that country the participants went home with peace and success.

I dont have anything against the oromo longing for freedom and democracy, or even secession but you oromos are going to have to stop with the absurd idea that Amharas and tigres come from Yemen. That is absolute nonsense! We are indigionous to Northern ethiopia and whatever immigration that came from arabia was minimal. Oromos and “abysinians” are closely related and so are the other people of the horn. Quit getting into these Italian ideas of semitic people “conquering” the negroid cushitic people. I drove throughout ethiopia and there is not even a difference in looks. I was very surprised at how “black” the northern people look.
We need a new paradigm for the oromo people. I dont buy the victomology history, there are some truths in it but it is very overexxagerated by OLF buffs. I see the shewan oromo as abysinian, and it is well known that most of ethiopias rulling class was oromo. Haile sellasie and his wife, mengistu, Zewditu, lij iyusu, menelik and his wife, tedros wife, oromo courts and even ethiopias rulers in the 1800s. Oromos are a part of the empire as well as being victims of it.
By the way for the OLF freaks that always want to shout and call ethiopia an illegitimate country. Tell me what african country is “more” legitimate the ethiopia. Go ahead ill wait…. None, thats right. Their all euro creations. Is the congo and sudan more legitamate then ethiopia? NO! What do the oromo want in their ethio history. Ballot boxes. It has never happened anywhere in history so stop judging ethiopia in a perfect vacuum. All the demonization of menelik has to stop as well. Menelik went to war with some oromo areas but the whole of ethiopia was fighting different peoples. The “myth” that he killed 5 million oromos is pure nonsense. No one this blog can ever come up with him doing that. It was called warfare and people sadly died but the amount of people killed in warfare is around 50,000 and never the 5,000,000 absurdity that OLF buffs use to demonize menelik.
The majority of countries on earth come thru empire and colonialism. Russia,Iran,CHina etc etc. In fact their are no countries on earth that were set up with the “self determinsm” of their people. Even the so called euro nation states. The “social contract” theory is nonsence. People dont want to join larger political units they are forced to join them. Anyway peace out. I will be on mana Bunna arguing some of my points. I think that the amhara people have to start defending ourselves from the hatefull slander of the oromo nutjobs. We cant let you guys and woyane continue to demonize us.
It’s all in the name. —> “Abyssinian colonialist” is what you wanted to call yourself.
Its a joke dummy.
I take the “dummy” back. It is your blog
It’s ok dummy!
