Oromos are quintessential people of the African horn

Professor Merara Gudina once said, Oromo is the trunk and axis of Ethiopia. I couldn’t have said it better. Oromos are the Cushitic roots and the stems of many people of the horn that branched out to different groups like the Somalis, Afars, Sidamas, Sahos, Bejas and others. Habesha people are like birds who flocked from South Arabia and nested on this tree. The birds could sing and we could have given them fruits and shelter and live harmoniously together if it wasn’t for the fact that these birds shit on us a lot and hurt our bark like a woodpecker does while searching for bugs to eat. If only they knew what is good for them? Do you want to be caged or do you want to fly away? If you don’t want those two options, which I don’t think you do, stop shitting on the Odaa tree and respect the indigenous African democracy - Gadaa.
